Louise answers students’ questions at Corby Business Academy

25th June 2010

Louise Bagshawe, MP for Corby and East Northamptonshire, visited Corby Business Academy at the invitation of Megan Sherlock, MYP for Corby and Kettering.

Louise and Megan met to discuss local and national issues, before Megan chaired a question and answer session with Louise and members of the Academy’s Senate.

Louise Bagshawe said:
“From Corby’s growth and the local economy, to George Osborne’s budget and the Government’s plans reduce our deficit, we had a really interesting discussion.”

“I’m always pleased to meet with our local youngsters to be reminded of some of the key issues affecting their lives and futures. I know it’s often said that the young are disengaged in politics, but here in Corby I find there’s a real thirst from the students to get involved and have their voices heard.

“I was delighted to have the chance to catch up with Megan Sherlock, our local Member of the Youth Parliament. She is a dedicated local campaigner and I was very interested to hear about the work she does in her role as our Young MP and her exciting plans for the future.”
