Louise visits Rockingham Motor Speedway

26th August 2009

Louise Bagshawe visits race venue for briefing on their carbon-neutral status and their plans to lead the way on emerging green technologies.

Louise Bagshawe, Parliamentary Candidate for Corby & East Northants, today visited Rockingham Speedway to meet staff and for a tour of the facility, one of the UK’s leading corporate venues and race tracks.
Louise met with senior officials from the venue, and was briefed on Rockingham’s plans for the future.

Louise said:

“I was thrilled to visit Rockingham Speedway today.

“Its carbon-neutral status is leading the way in environmentally-friendly motoring. I was very impressed with their emphasis on teaching our kids about science and green technology.

“Rockingham Speedway is truly a great local business and I’m hugely supportive of what they’re doing.

“We are very fortunate to have such a first rate venue on our doorstep.”

Since its £70m completion in May 2001, Rockingham Speedway has become not just an international motor racing circuit but has grown to now offer driving days, exhibition and conference space, vehicle demonstrations and driver training facilities.
